OOTD- Sugar-Coated Shirtdress, for a Sugar-Loving Lady!

Good morning blogging pals!! Did I sleep last night?? Wow, it sure doesn't feel like it! Rough night, but hoping for a productive day!

I told you I am on a roll with the shirtdress love! Here is Anthro's Sugar-Coated Shirtdress. I love the tailoring, love the fall colors, love the length, love the vintage-vibe!

Dress: Anthropologie Sugar-Coated Shirtdress
Tank: Ross
Tights: Banana Republic
Boots: Union Bay via Kohl's
Necklace: Owl from Kohls
But look, the neatest part about this dress is, you get a two for one!!This is the Sugar-Coated turned inside out!! Isn't the color beautiful! The lining is done so well, there are no seams! If you remove the tags, it looks like it was made to wear this way! It is a little tricky zipping and buttoning it, but it's do-able! The under skirting has a pretty lace trim, and the real skirt has a pretty ribbon trim that is hard to see in this photo. I love how the shirt is accented by the contrasting trim at the neckline and sleeves! This gives the dress a completely different look!
I was featured in Anthroholic's Reader Outfits this week wearing the inside out look - I love Kim's weekly feature and it's always fun to be a part of it! This week all the ladies look especially fabulous- outfits and backgrounds- you must take a look!

The Desk of a Homeschooling Mother

OOTD- Turning a Summer Dress into a Fall Dress

It's nice to get more mileage out of certain summer dresses. I don't think it can be done with all summer dresses, due to color or the cut of the dress, but this one lends itself to wearing something under it!

Here is the photo of me wearing it this summer - simple, clean lines.

Now for fall, layering! I added a turtleneck from Kohl's, a deep eggplant colored scarf from Kohl's, tights from Banana Republic in a gray hue, and my Union Bay boots! Voila, ready for the crisp air out there today.

My take at the Miche Bag Party!

I hosted a Miche Bag Party yesterday! It was so fun just to have my girlfriends over, chat, try on purses and eat healthy snacks! I really thought I would be buying the small Miche, but I carry TOO MUCH STUFF!! So I went with the big bag! I love it! I just love the idea of keeping everything in my purse the same but changing the look! Awesome! Because I hosted the party, I got some hostess rewards, so I ended up getting my bag for free and each of my shells at 50% off!

I also put the organizer from my Butler Bag into my Miche. I think this is the perfect blend of two handbag worlds as I can't live without my Butler Bag organization- at a glance I can see every single item in my purse. But, I was getting tired of my coffee colored leather bag and wanted to be able to change the bag style from time to time.

I chose the Lacy (faux ostrich skin) and black patent
Danielle tapestry and faux leather accents

OOTD-Flowers....

I wanted to wear my new cool Target boots today, and I built this outfit around them, but when I tried on the boots, they had big cuts in the inside and made the lining smash all down! So I will have to return them! They are Steven Madden knock-offs, so hopefully I can find another pair. Wahhh.

Love these colors - fallish!

Have you ever done anything so drastic?

I'm finding lately I'm overwhelmed by my closet. There is TOO much in there! I can't decide on what to wear. I purchased many things in this past year that really weren't "me". I would see something on someone else in the blog world, looked darling on them and I convinced myself I needed it too. Um, not a good practice because then you end up with stuff you don't wear because you are not comfortable in it! Then I bought too many things just because they were a good deal (my ever present flaw!)

I'm thinking I'd do better to just buy a few items I really love, even at full price, and keep things simple.

Which brings me to my question. Have you ever made such a drastic move, where you got rid of tons in your closet and just stuck with a few basics? Pieces you loved, that you felt good wearing and were comfortable in? Of late, every time I wear something and I spend any time pulling, tugging or repositioning, when I get home, it goes in the Goodwill bag.

My style is classic- I love pieces that can stand the test of time. I am not good with trendy, and look much better in simple. What to do, what to do???

I really enjoyed Kayleigha's post over at KrameyMartin yesterday. She says a lot of great things and the comment section is filled with words from others who feel the same. I'm always working on achieving the BALANCE.........

The kindness of bloggers!

Had to do a quick post to say a big THANK YOU to Jessica from Breakfast at Gigi's for this wonderful Simply Vera Wang necklace she sent me! I love it! I told Jessica one day when I saw her wear this necklace in her OOTD, that I had the matching bracelet and would love to have the necklace should she ever decide to sell it. Well, lo and behold, she just mailed it to me! Now what do you think of that? Sheer kindness from a bloggy friend, miles away. I love the statement piece - thanks Jessica!!
